Pawnee City United Methodist Church

United Methodists share a perspective forged in the shared experience of a church and a nation born in a century of remarkable change. We are, by design, a people dedicated to a life of Christian purpose: "Do no harm. Do good. Stay in love with God." We honor a life of participation and personal responsibility that includes generosity, sacrifice, and self-restraint, responding to the call of Jesus Christ.

We love worship, the study of God's Word, music, church suppers, and a sense of community and belonging. We welcome people of faith into our churches. We also welcome people searching for answers to life's tough questions because we know what it is like to feel alone and unsure, to need a welcoming place. We open our hearts, our minds, and our doors. We answer the call of making disciples for the transformation of the world. Read more about what United Methodists Believe.

The mission statement for the Pawnee City United Methodist Church is "Reaching out in love and fellowship to all." To that end, our focus includes radical hospitality, heartwarming worship, risk-taking justice ministries, systematic faith development, gracious generosity, and connectional joy. In practical terms, those goals have translated into action in a variety of ways: social coffee hour after the 4th Sunday worship service, noisy offerings (coin collections by the children during services), collection of school supplies and food items, adult discussion group, United Methodist Women activities, the sale of Equal Exchange coffee and chocolate products, free monthly meal open to the community, 5th Sunday potluck lunches, monthly Mission Meals, and the hosting several community events each year.
